the littlest browncoat

PCL LinkDump posted about this fun, tripped out Man from U.N.C.L.E. fan fiction staged with dolls.

Evidently, the good folks at Tonner Doll Company have whole worlds of character dolls. Including characters from Firefly.

Yes, Mal (browncoat sold separately), Inara (sold out), Zoë and the man they call Jayne.

No sign of/word about Wash, Book, Kaylee, Simon or River Tam. And as these are figure dolls, probably no chance of there being a scale model of Serenity.

the greatest films never made

This page of movie posters from an alternate universe has been making the rounds on the strength of this poster alone.

But I say go there and see how hard it is to pick a favorite. This. So. Rocks.

Okay, okay, my faves (admittedly based on obscure name checking and/or none-too-subtle dislocations):

Andrei Tarkovsky's Micronauts, featuring James Brolin, Tom Selleck and the music of Wendy Carlos.

Ghostbusters, 1960s style, with Vincent Price, Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing, a demon possessed Bette Davis and the music of Henry Mancini.

The Star Wars
with Malcolm McDowell, Jacqueline Bisset, Cheech and Chong (as the Droids), music by Bernard Herrmann, direction by Alejandro Jodorowsky, screenplay by Norman Mailer.

none other than

As seen on Pathway To Unknown Worlds.

Ghosts of the future convene in this ectoplasmic assemblage of pixels & sound.

Cathode irradiation of weeks spent curled by the icy warmth of the set waiting for this show to finally come on.

And here it comes bearing the vestments of Jerry Lee and Tristan Tzara. Ready, set, go.

another patient of the Ward

I may remember this balmy bit of metafiction. It seems familiar. Or may've just read something like it in MAD.

But it's thanks to the good folks at Pleasant Valley Shopping who just posted this and other Montgomery Ward goodness.

blink once for yes

Whether you're a fan of Neil, this song or the leggy womens herein, this will break your brain six ways from Sunday.

And to entirely overdo things so as to avoid a third Scopitone post in about as many weeks, two more for the road. Offered without context . . .

coded for mass consumption by hermits

For the film enthusiast, a still pic of that goldurn Godard.

For the person with truly nothing to do and nothing to hear/read & generally puzzle over, this.
