The K-Tel Scrolls

And verily, an angel spake unto me and sayeth: "Hey, did you know you have this K-Tel mini catalog dealie in one of your records?"

"No, uh, guess I did and forgot . . . "

"Well, maybe you should scan this and share it online." And the angel drew forth a flaming sword and with bright and shining countenance sayeth, "Yeah, maybe on unterkayness."

"That old ghost blog . . . "

"Yeah, sure, why not?"

Anyway, there's too much here for any one person to unpack with words. Idea is that several world religions will begin here with you all's close reading and interpretation of say, the 8-track tape selector. Or the "try it in a t-shirt" um, T-shirt.

Be fruitful and multiply (clicketh to crazily embiggen/see these really big scans):

if I ever join Facebook

Y'know, it was weird.

Kevin McCarthy had just jumped off this produce truck screaming at anyone who could listen about big pod plants and aliens and such. I was unnerved.

But I woke up this morning feeling fresh and alive, and yet very calm (like after a long drifting deep space voyage).

And feeling so thoroughly renewed, I popped out of bed and signed up on Facebook.

Or, for those more familiar with the remake:

Brooke Adams, y'know, points at me and goes, I dunno, "Ahhhhhhhhg!"

So then I point at Brooke and I go "Ahhhhhhhhhg!"

We both go "Ahhhhhhhhg!" a couple more times before we fall to the ground laughing and saying "Dude, we soooo totally rule this planet--yeah!"

(Hope my wife will post this on Facebook . . .)

what is our gamelan?

With a new president, our new president now sworn in, there are all sorts of questions and notions going forward.

My meme to offer rides the back of the previous post:

What is our gamelan?

Or, if you prefer, your gamelan, or mine?

(Again, leave it to Wikipedia to provide the contextual details.)

I'm still guessing as to mine, but the notion overall is:

Where for anyone does the creativity of one join in with and foment the creativity of many? Where does anyone go again and again, day-to-day or whenever possible, to offer the fruits of who she or he is to comprise an even broader harvest?

This is humbly presented as an organizing question, something that may lack any one clear or definite answer but will present any number of operative principles or best next actions.

The metaphor means to offer both community and play, structure and variation.

With the let's get together and work things out themes of late, we may want to whistle while we work. Or work as we whistle.

The whistling itself maybe being the work. The play that moves us forward.
